Well dudes, I have been busy and stressed and tired lately, and instead of talking about any of the junk that is causing me to be that way, I’m gonna talk about something I like way more: TV.
Like, can’t even play, even with all the junk that’s going on right now, the bulk of my attention in life is dedicated to sitting on my couch and wearing a snuggie and watching tv. This is not surprising. We all knew this is where my path through space and time was headed, okay?
So I’m already committed to watching about 90 hours of television a week as it is. Here are some thing I am watchin’ hard lately:

Basically Everything on Thursday night on NBC: Thursday night NBC is pretty much a staple in my life, even if my feelings on it are kind of on a slight downswing lately. Community is pretty dece, like I laugh when I watch it and stuff, but I’m not gonna get Feelings of the Bad Variety if I miss it. ON THE OTHER HAND, the world will literally end if I don’t watch Parks and Rec immediately as it airs. It’s a serious thing we have going on right now. I will refrain from making a list detailing everything I love about it, because you probably already know how great it is if you have eyes and an ear or two. It’s just perfect. I love it. They made a Gertrude Stein joke a couple weeks ago and I almost s’d in my pants laughing. Perfect.
It even puts me in a good enough mood to watch new episodes of The Office immediately afterward, which is pretty intense given how hard and fast it sucks lately. And that is coming from someone who defended it up until the last 2 episodes of last season when Michael Scott left and everything suddenly spontaneously combusted. Up until then, I DIDN’T HATE IT! I THOUGHT IT WAS STILL WORTHWHILE! And then everything went to shit right quick and I looked like the fool! THANKS FOR PLAYING ME, THE OFFICE. I WAS ROOTING FOR YOU. WE WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU.
And I’m not even gonna say anything about how painful Whitney is as a show, because it’s BENEATH ME.
Also I’m pretty sure at one point 30 Rock aired on Thursday nights but it was so long ago, who can even remember?

Modern Family: I actually did not start watching this show until this summer. Like, what? There were two seasons that apparently existed and I didn’t watch because no one even felt the need to tell me about them. And eventually I heard some Stuff about it, mostly Good Stuff, but whatever, I don’t know, I figured if it was worth watching I already would have done it, right? (WRONG.)
But for some reason I happened to watch a repeat this summer and I became ROBSESSED with it. Particularly with Phil and Luke because they are the best characters on the show and possibly on tv ever in all of history? It’s so good and if you think it’s bad you are w r o n g. That’s it that’s all.

American Horror Story: This show is weird? I don’t even know what else to say. It’s not GOOD, exactly, it’s smug and up its own ass and it makes total sense that it was done by the people who also did Glee and Nip/Tuck, which shouldn’t even MAKE sense. It spends 44 minutes a week trying to convince you that it’s ~sleek~ and ~stylistic~ when it’s really just campy and kind of dumb.
BUT YOU KNOW WHAT? I watch it every frigging week. I can’t stop. So joke’s on me, I guess.

Boardwalk Empire: I CAN’T EVEN TALK ABOUT IT (well okay yes I can and now I will). It is literally the best thing that has ever been captured on film and then broadcast for public viewings, NOT EXAGGERATING EVEN SLIGHTLY. It is perfect. But you know what, even if it was a pile of garbage I would still watch it every day of my life, and do you know why? It’s because the cast is made up of a lot of my future boyfriends, ie: attractive dudes I like to think I will someday trick into dating me or at least acknowledging my existence.
Michael Pitt And His Haircut? The new Irish guy who’s name I don’t remember? Half Face Richard Harrow who apparently has a full face in real life and it is all beautiful??? I WILL MARRY YOU ALL. 3 DUDES 1 LADY, I DON’T EVEN CARE. It will be perfect. No one even really needs to talk that much, just let me touch your beautiful faces and/or heads of hair(s?) all day long. Looking forward to it, Sincerely Your Future Wife, Eva.
ANYWAY. Those are some things I’m watching lately. And yet IT DOESN’T FEEL LIKE ENOUGH! So I have been compiling a list of shows I’m going to try to start watching soon, because obviously I need to dedicate more time to that sort of thing.
Sherlock: Everyone seems to like the 2010 BBC Sherlock series, so I’m going to start watching it. And actually, between the time I started writing this blog entry and the time I got to this sentence, I watched the first episode on Netflix. There’s only like 3 episodes too, which is bummer city USA because I am REALLY into it so far. Martin Freeman and his disappearing limp! Benedict Cumberbash’s hilarious face and name! British sass and witticisms! WHAT’S NOT TO LIKE?
Game of Thrones: Oooookay I know, I probably should have been watching this already, but IN MY DEFENSE we don’t get HBO and I don’t think it’s on Netflix, and I don’t like to commit to watching TV episodes on my computer unless I know I REALLY LOVE them (ie: Boardwalk Empire). And also I had real noble intentions of reading the books first but I borrowed the first one from my dad about 4 months ago and haven’t even opened it once so HA HA HA GUESS THAT’S NOT GONNA HAPPEN.
Anyway. I don’t know when I’ll actually get around to watching this, but I have High Hopes.
Breaking Bad: I feel like I don’t even need to explain why I want to watch this since everyone is ass over heels in love with it. All I can do is explain why I’m not already watching it already, and that is because when it first came out I felt like it was trying to usurp Mad Men, and that offended me deeply.
Now that Mad Men is basically a long-forgotten memory to me I don’t even remember WHY I felt like this, though, so my only CURRENT excuse is that obviously my schedule is full, too full of weekly tv shows I am dedicated too and writing up totally pointless 1000+ word blog entries about those shows. I simply haven’t had the time to Open My Heart to Jesse Pinkman yet.
Truly, my life is difficult.
When Parks & Rec started, I thought it was a pretty funny show that came on before The Office. And now I love it more than any other show on TV. (Which doesn’t really say much, because I don’t even have my TV plugged in, but still, I watch the episodes online and love it.)
that is EXACTLY how i felt too, haha, it’s crazy how fast my allegiance switched between them.
My whole family got really into modern family so I started watching it shortly after it came out and now I can’t stop.
